At the end of the first Year I made my first piece of propper furniture. A Table. Its a simple side table with traditional mortise and tenon joints. I used elm wood for the legs and rails and oak for the tabletop. For finishing i used Osmo Top Oil, which is water resistant and good for work surfaces. I decided to leave the natural edges of the tree on the underside of the rails. That gives the table an organic feel to it. There are some gaps between the frame and the tabletop. And If I could do it again I would only use one sort of wood. But all in all i am happy with how the table came out. Looking at it satisfies me. I use the table every day.
